GUJRAT: The administration has decided to upgrade 22 schools of the district and complete around two dozen schools during the current year.

Four schools will be completely reconstructed after the demolition of existing structures which have been declared as dangerous by building engineers.

The list of these schools have been prepared on the proposals of the lawmakers belonging to the coalition partners PML-Q and PTI.

Chairing a meeting of the officers of the District Education Authority, the Gujrat deputy commissioner said that the recommendations for the upgrade of 22 schools from primary to middle and middle to high level had been prepared .

He said that the buildings of government high schools of Sheikhpur and Mirza Tahir as well as primary portion of government high school, Tanda, and government primary school, Mala Garh, would be reconstructed.

He said that the several new academic blocks, multi-purpose halls and several classrooms would also be constructed in around 18 different schools of rural as well as urban centers of the district.

He said that the list of these projects had been made as per the proposals of the lawmakers which would be sent to the provincial government for the allocation of funds.

FILTER: A latest water filtration plant has been made functional at the Government Swedish Pakistani Institute of Technology. The plant was installed by some local philanthropists.
