HYDERABAD, Aug 18: The executive engineer, Naseer irrigation division, has announced a water rotation programme for the Naseer branch system from Aug 18 to Aug 26.

The 15 channels of the division, including Nagnah, Gharib, Tando Ghulam Ali, Wagherji, Jarkas and Tando Soomro-II distributaries; Shaikh Moosa, Chuch, Basran-I, Sorhadi, Sangi, Chango and Landhi-I minors; and direct outlets of the Naseer branch from RD-90 to RD-354, both sides, will remain closed from Aug 18 to Aug 26.

INQUIRY: DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed has appointed the EDO, revenue, Abdul Sattar Jatoo, as the inquiry officer to probe into the death of Kanwal, an inmate of Darul Aman, Hyderabad, and asked him to submit his report in 15 days.

The DCO also constituted a four-member committee to monitor affairs of Darul Aman.

EXAMS: The controller of examinations of the University of Sindh on Thursday announced the schedule for submitting forms for annual examinations in various subjects of postgraduate courses of regular candidates of affiliated colleges of the Hyderabad city.

The last date for submitting examination forms has been fixed at Aug 31.

The controller also announced that examinations of MSc rural development, external programme, will start from Sept 9 at the Sindh Development Study Centre, Jamshoro.

HOLIDAY: The EDO, education, notified here on Thursday that educational institutions (private/government) of Hyderabad, Matiari and Tando Mohammad Khan districts would remain closed on Aug 24 and 25 on account of the local government elections.
