LAHORE: Mian Bilal and Noor Malik won the men’s and ladies’ finals of the first Sports Board Punjab Junior Tennis Championship here on Saturday.

Bilal defeated Imran Bha­tti in a straight set final 7-5, 6-3 to annex the title. Bilal took 30 minutes to complete the victory as Imran, after sho­wing good fight in the first set, went down tamely in the second to lose the final.

In the ladies’ final, Noor started with and continued her domination before her rival Esha Jawad faced fitness problems and lost 6-0, 3-1.

The finals in other age categories were also decided.

Men’s singles: Mian Bilal bt Imran Bhatti 7-5, 6-3.

Ladies’ singles: Noor Malik bt Esha Jawad 6-0, 3-1 (retd.).

Under-18 Girls: Ashtifila Arif bt Aqsa Akram 6-0, 6-2.

Girls U-14: Ashtifila bt Aqsa Akram 4-1, 4-0. Boys-18: Faizan Fayyaz beat Hassan Ali 6-1,6-3.

Boys U-18 doubles: Zain Ch/Ifham Rana bt Musa Haroon/Mohammad Ibrahim 0-4, 4-2, 10-8.

Boys U-16: Faizan Fayyaz bt Hassan Ali 6-2, 6-2.

Boys U-14: Ehtesham Humayun bt Asad Zaman 0-4, 4-1, 10-8.

Boys U-12: Ehtesham Humayun bt Ameer Mazari 8-0

Boys U-10: Omer Jawad bt Ismail Aftab 8-1.
