TAXILA: A couple was critically injured when Mehar Express train coming from Multan hit their vehicle at an unmanned railway crossing near Jaffar village in the jurisdiction of Fatehjang police station of Attock on Friday.

According to the Railway police, Sajid along with his wife Humera Bibi was going to their village in their Suzuki van when the train hit their vehicle.

Locals of the area shifted the injured to THQ hospital, Fatehjang. Their condition was stated to be critical.

The train service remained suspended for 30 minutes.

The locals demanded action against the officials concerned for not setting up a gate at the crossing.
