KARACHI: A factory worker was killed off the Superhighway on Thursday evening, according to Memon Goth police.
They added that Zohaib Dilawar, in his early 20s, was on his way home after performing his duty at a factory when some suspects stabbed him to death near Dumba Goth and fled.
Area SHO Qalandar Bux said that a few days ago, a scuffle had broken out between the victim and the suspects, which might have led to the murder. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to fulfil legal formalities.
Five hurt in explosions
Five persons were hurt in cylinder and diesel tank explosions in two separate incidents in the city on Thursday, according to officials.
Three persons sustained burns when a cylinder blast occurred at a fast food restaurant near Maskan Chowrangi in Gulshan-i-Iqbal.
The police said that the wounded employees were shifted to a nearby private hospital from where two of them were discharged after first aid. However, the third individual, identified as Daniyal, 25, was admitted for treatment as he had sustained burns. The officer said that in his statement before the police, the injured person said that he did not want to pursue legal proceedings.
Separately, two persons were hurt in a diesel tank explosion at a godown near Haji Umeed Ali Goth off National Highway.
