NOWADAYS social media is a vital aspect of children’s social and creative lives. They use social media to have fun, make and maintain friendships, share interests, explore identities and develop relationships with family. It is an extension of their offline and face-to-face interactions.

However, there is a dark side. Exposure to social media sites can also pose risks for your child. These risks include exposure to inappropriate or upsetting content like mean, aggressive, violent or sexual comments or images.

This also means uploading of inappropriate contents like embarrassing and sharing personal information with strangers like phone numbers, date of birth or location.

My point is: parents should exercise caution. Think many times before giving your child a digital device, as it may be harmful for you and your child.
