KARACHI: National Basketball Club beat Civil Basketball Club 51-46 while Karachi Colts defeated Dow Basketball Club 35-31 on the opening day of the Gatorade Basketball Trophy here at the Abdul Nasir courts on Friday night.

In the first match, National Club won mainly due to Humayun Aslam (18 points), Hasan Ali (13 points) and Faizan Sheikh (10 points).

For the losing side the main scorers were Usman Khwaja (24 points), Hasan Iqbal (10 points) and Zulfiqar Khan (10 points).

In the second match, fine scoring by Faizan Yousuf (10 points), Hamza Perwani (10 points) and Nauman Alui (9 points) helped Karachi Colts to win.

For the losing club, the main scorers were Shariq Suleman (12 points) and Muneeb Channa( 11 points).

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by PBL’s Manager coordination Mohammad Ikhlaq.

The event is being organiised jointly by KBBA and PSWA.
