LAHORE: Punjab Chief Secretary retired Maj Azam Suleman Khan on Wednesday virtually monitored Saddar police station in Rawalpindi, the emergency ward of Gujranwala DHQ Hospital and Model Bazaar in Township Lahore.

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) had arranged the virtual monitoring through video link.

According to a handout issued on Wednesday, the chief secretary asked purchasers at the Township Model Bazaar about the prices of commodities fixed by the government and their quality.

He spoke to patients at the DHQ hospital regarding behaviour of doctors and other staff with the public besides provision of healthcare facilities and medicines. Similarly, he inquired the complainants at Saddar police station about the problems they were facing.

Talking to complainants through the video link, Mr Khan said that police stations had been set up to provide relief to people. Likewise, speaking to shoppers at the Model Bazaar, he mentioned that virtual monitoring was aimed at resolving problems of the common man.

He further directed the model bazaar administration to take every possible step to facilitate customers. The buyers told him that daily-use items were available at reasonable prices at the bazaar.
