PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth said on Monday that Christian community was playing important role in national and economic development of the country.

As per tradition, the chief justice and other judges attended a function to celebrate the festival of Christmas along with Christian employees of the high court.

The gathering was attended by principal officers and staff.

PHC Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth wished a merry and joyous Christmas to the Christian community.

He said that minorities gave the message of joy, forgiveness, peace, brotherhood and harmony.

He said that the rights of Christians and all minorities would be protected and urged them to perform their duties to the best of their ability.

He extended full cooperation and support to them in their religious activities.

On the occasion, Pastor William and Pastor Shahid stressed the need for importance of the message of Christmas and the sacrifices attached to it.

After a Christmas cake cutting ceremony along with the Christian employees and Pastor William, the PHC chief justice greeted Christian community on their religious festival and said that being Pakistani, the joy of all the communities was collective.

In the end, the chief justice distributed presents amongst the employees.
