KARACHI, Aug. 15: Four people drowned in the sea in two different incidents on Sunday. Edhi sources said three youngsters were swept away by strong waves from the land reclamation near Village restaurant. According to eyewitnesses youths were sitting at the edge of the reclaimed piece of land when strong waves swept them away.

After a few hours the bodies were washed ashore. The three victims could not identified immediately. The bodies were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem examination.

In another incident, a young man drowned off the Neelum Point on Sunday. Edhi sources said that a group of friends had come to the beach. Some of them entered the water and were caught in the receding tides. Subsequently, Zahid was swept away.

His body could not be recovered from the sea despite attempts.
