Camping pods installed for tourists in Bamburate valley

PESHAWAR: Scores of camping pods have been installed at the Bamburate scenic spot in Kalash valley to facilitate tourists during the upcoming tourism season in the province.

The provincial government has already installed the 2-4 beds camping pods at several tourist attractions, including Bishigram and Gabin Jabba in Swat, Sharan in Kaghan, Thandiani in Abbottabad, Yakhtangay in Shangla and Sheikh Badin in Lakki Marwat.

The camping pods and tent villages at these resorts have already been renovated and made available to the tourists. The camping pods are the best residential as well as recreational facility for the visiting families.

There are also tent villages for the enthusiasts of adventure tourism.

Senior minister for tourism Mohammad Atif Khan and Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa managing director Junaid Khan on Friday said that the installation of camping pods and provision of other facilities, including tent villages and parks, had attracted a large number of tourists to the scenic spots of the province.

They said that local and foreign tourists were visiting the scenic places in the province owing to the camping pods set up there.

The MD said that installation of the camping pods at the serene places was the continuation of a process initiated by the TCKP to facilitate tourists and promote tourism in every nook and corner of the province. He said that the natural beauty and facilities were making KP a preferable destination for the domestic as well as international tourists.

A camping pod could accommodate several tourists at a time, who can avail of every facility, including security, play land for children and kitchen at the pods.

Meanwhile, local and foreign tourists are enjoying various events of the ongoing Chawmoss festival in the Kalash valley. The Kalasha people have until now celebrated several events as part of Chawmoss festival that kicked off on December 7. They held bonfire competitions and later marked Mandahek, Sharaberayak, Savilakehari and Sheshao events as part of the festival.
