RAWALPINDI: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Wednesday said innocent Kashmiris were under siege for the last 136 days and urged the world community to play its role.

Addressing students at the education exhibition at the Rawalpindi Arts Council, the JI emir said the Kashmiris were looking towards Pakistan for resolution of the longstanding dispute.

He said the political leadership in India-held Kashmir had been arrested, adding that he would lead a procession towards Islamabad to show solidarity with the Kashmiris.

He asked the workers to get ready for December 22 march, saying they would fight for the Kashmiri people till they achieve their right to self-determination.

The JI emir said said his party would introduce free education and bring tax reforms and implement Sharia laws after coming to power.
