MULTAN: After the confirmation of polio virus in a seven-month-old girl in Muzaffargarh one week ago, the district health authorities of Multan have decided to vaccinate the children coming from Muzaffargarh at the entry points.

According to polio campaign in-charge Dr Zaffar Abbas, teams have been deployed at Head Muhammadwala and Sher Shah Toll Plaza as it has been decided that each and every child coming from Muzaffargarh will be vaccinated. He said that after confirmation of the crippling virus in Muzaffargarh, alert in the neighbouring districts had been issued.

He said the children in every vehicle coming from Muzaffargarh would be vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Engineer Amjad Shoaib Tareen inspected a campaign in the Union Council Latkran. He paid a surprise visit and expressed satisfaction over the performance of the team including lady health workers Shazia Bibi and Tahira Javed. The DC also checked the instruments meant to ensure the quality of the vaccine besides door marking.
