LAHORE: The PML-Q has asked the government to provide PPP co-chairperson and MNA Asif Ali Zardari all facilities given to a former president under the law.

“Mr Zardari should be given all facilities being former president so that its does not become a matter of provincialism. The cases against him are being tried in Punjab thus triggering a debate of provincialism,” PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said in a statement here on Tuesday.

PML-Q Sindh president Tariq Hassan also called on him at his residence.

Shujaat said the people from different walks of life were talking about giving separate treatment to Punjabi former premier Nawaz Sharif and Sindhi former president Zardari. Mr Zardari should also be provided the same health facilities which were given to Nawaz Sharif, he said.

He said this issue should not be given provincialism colour.

“Mr Zardari remained president of whole country and not Sindh. The federal government should also provide him all facilities according to the law,” he demanded.

Also, a Saudi investors’ delegation, headed by Fahd bin Muhammad Albash, called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi here on Tuesday and exchanged views to further promote economic cooperation between the two countries.

Mr Elahi said the government would encourage Saudi investors by all possible means.

Fahd bin Mohammad Albash said that Pakistan would further promote mutual economic cooperation.
