A FEW weeks ago, I applied to the Karachi University to major in animation. After going through the test and interview successfully, I was dumbfounded to see my name missing from the list announced the following week.
To my surprise, my overall percentage was greater than the closing percentage in our department. However, our head of the department was kind enough to re-asses the calculation of my marks and forwarded my case to the admission committee.
Since then, several weeks have passed but there has been no response, although I visited the admission committee twice. The public sector universities have lost their status owing to such apathy.
If the committee does not want to pay heed to my case, it should at least inform me so that my year is not wasted and I may apply to other universities.
