KARACHI: A 19-year-old labourer died when he slipped from a trolley lift of an under-construction building in Defence on Friday as ostensibly no safety precautions were taken, according to Gizri police.

They added that Aamir died while working at Sahar Commercial.

Gizri SHO Rizwan Haider said the victim was trying to carry load with the help of the trolley lift when he slipped and fell down. Heavy construction material hit his neck, which proved fatal, he added.

The officer said the family did not want to pursue the case legally. The victim was said to be a close relative of the construction contractor.
