QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani said on Monday that in order to change the fate of the province, government officers should show seriousness and work with the province’s political leadership which was making efforts to make the province developed and prosperous.

The chief minister was presiding over a high-level meeting that continued for several hours. The meeting was briefed by officials concerned on development projects included in the Public Sector Development Progarmme (PSDP) of 2019-20.

It reviewed the pace of progress on development schemes of health, education and sports sectors.

Finance Minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Health Minister Mir Nasibullah Marri, adviser on sports to the chief minister Abdul Khaliq Hazara, adviser on secondary education Mohammad Khan Lehri, chief secretary retired Captain Fazeel Asghar, additional chief secretary planning and development Abdul Rehman Buzdar, finance secretary Noorul Haq Baloch, education secretary Mohammad Tayyab Lehri and other officials concerned attended the meeting.

It was decided that work on the projects would be initiated after adopting a strategy for their timely implementation and no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.

CM Alyani informed the meeting that his government was working hard to increase resources of the province.

“The Balochistan development budget could increase many fold if we utilise resources properly,” he said.

Referring to the plan of establishing sport complexes in all districts of the province, he said it would not only provide opportunity to the youth to take part in various games, but also allow people to take part in healthy activities.

He said that district profiles should be prepared in order to pursue the plan to establish sports complexes. He said that facilities of the international standard should be ensured in the complexes.

He said that before organising national games in Quetta, a provincial competition should be arranged to prepare for a big event.
