PESHAWAR: A paramilitary soldier was martyred and two terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire between security forces and a group of militants in the tribal district of North Waziristan on Sunday.

Two soldiers also suffered wounds in the attack on a post of Frontier Corps (FC) near Afghan border, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations.

In a tweet, Director General of the ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said: “Terrorist fire raided FC post in North Waziristan Distt near Pak-Afg Border. During exchange of fire 2 terrorists killed.”

He said that one soldier embraced martyrdom while two other personnel suffered wounds.

The martyred soldier was identified as Lance Naik Mohammad Imran Afridi. The wounded soldiers of FC were taken to a local hospital.

According to the ISPR, two terrorists were killed in retaliatory fire.

The tweet did not mention the location of the FC post that came under attack.
