HARIPUR: The Haripur district administration on Friday razed 20 shops and portion of a mosque constructed illegally on a water channel along Dheri-Sikandarpur Road.

According to additional assistant commissioner Adnan Jameel Khan, the head of anti-encroachment campaign, the authorities had marked the encroached upon land about a year ago and served the occupants with notices for voluntary demolition of the structures. But the occupants had moved court claiming the ownership.
