MURREE: Two schools in remote parts of Murree have won the British Council’s International School Award in Rawalpindi division.

Students from the Government Girls Elementary School Surassi and Government Girls Elementary School Mussiyarri won the 2018-19 awards despite the fact that these schools lack many facilities and are located in remote areas.

For the ISAs, schools are registered with the British Council and given seven activities based on the Sustainable Development Goals and the school curriculum.

These activities are shared with internally connected schools through the internet, and are assessed by British Council evaluators.

If the schools fulfil the requirements, they participate in the competition. The awards are in place for three years and students from winning schools receive training courses over that time as well as international trips by the council.
