KARACHI: All-rounder Fareed Shah grabbed a hat-trick while inspiring Thunder Wolves to a clinical nine-wicket rout of SHC Greens during league-round tie in the first Sindh High Court Independence Day Cup T20 Colour-kit Tournament here on Sunday.

Opting to bat first at the UBL Sports Complex, SHC Greens — who had gone into this fixture on the back of three straight victories — were shot out for just 88 in 18.3 overs.

Bowling off-break, Fareed dismissed Sajid Pechuho, Asad Abbasi and Asghar Raza on successive deliveries to complete his hat-trick on way to final analysis of 5-14.

Thunder Wolves, who are in running for semi-finals, knocked off the modest target in just 5.3 overs on the back of an unbroken second-wicket stand of 59 between Mohammad Waqas (29) and man-of-the-match Fareed (36).

Summarised scores:

SHC GREENS 88 in 18.3 overs (Farhan Khan 30, Vinod Ramesh 17; Fareed Shah 5-14, Badiullah 3-19); THUNDER WOLVES 89-1 in 5.3 overs (Fareed Shah 36 not out, Mohammad Waqas 29 not out).
