KARACHI, Aug 9: A representative delegation of the Defence Residents Society called upon Administrator DHA Brig Maqsood Hussain at his office on Tuesday. The administrator told the delegation that water scarcity problem in the DHA was getting serious with each passing day due to reduced bulk supply of water to the DHA from the KWSB.

He reiterated that the DHA, however, had devised a forward-looking strategy encompassing both short- and long-term measures to meet the water situation.

Brig Maqsood pointed out that the DHA was revamping the entire water supply system to ensure smooth and efficient distribution of water.

He said that meanwhile all efforts were also being made to get an enhanced supply of water from the KWSB or any other alternate source possible.

He reiterated that the DHA would spend a record Rs2.1 billion amount on development works in the DHA during the current year.

At the end, DRS President Zafar Iqbal assured the administrator of full support. The CEO Clifton Cantonment Board, Iftikhar Mir, was also present.—PPI
