ATF U-14 tennis begins today

KARACHI: The Commissioner Karachi ATF U-14 tennis championship will commence at the Karachi Gymkhana on Sunday.

Leading junior players of the country will be taking part in the six-day event which will be jointly staged by Shamsi Tennis Academy and Pakistan Tennis Federation.

Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shallwani met chief organiser Khalid Shamsi and coordinator Ghulam Mohammad on Saturday and assured them of all the cooperation for the prestigious event and best security for the participating players. Both the officials briefed the commissioner of the details of the tournament.

Many events, including boys under-14 and girls under-14 singles and doubles, will be contested in the championship. Pakistan’s Ashar Mir will be the top seed.

The organisers have offered special thanks to DC South Syed Salahuddin, President Karachi Gymkhana Fawad Saleem Malik, AC Civil Lines Fatima Bashir and KMC deputy director information Mohammad Arshad for their arrangements and cooperation in holding the tournament.
