TAXILA: A sum of over Rs2.8 billion are being spent on development projects in Attock during the current fiscal year which upon completion would improve the living standard of the people.

This was stated by Provincial Minister for Revenue Malik Mohammad Anwar Khan while chairing a meeting of the district development board on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Ishratullah Khan Niazi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning Zaigham Nawaz, Chief Executive Officer Education Dr Javed Iqbal, Chief Executive Officer Health Dr Sohail Ejaz and others.

The minister said the government was taking revolutionary steps for the welfare and prosperity of the people and for this purpose billions of rupees were being spent on the development projects.

He said at present Rs2824.443 million were being spent on different development projects in Attock.

He said a large number of people had been affected by dengue fever across Punjab and steps were being taken to control the disease. He said in Attock this disease was under control because of efforts made by the district administration.

He directed the concerned officers to ensure control of prices of edibles and take action against those involved in profiteering and hoarding.
