KARACHI, Aug 8: PPP Chairperson Ms Benazir Bhutto has expressed concern over the baton-charge on school teachers in Sindh and demanded an end to state repression and brutalities against the civil society.

On Saturday, contract teachers from interior Sindh had gathered in Karachi to demand regularization of their jobs. Along with other teachers, they marched towards the CM’s House but police baton charged and dispersed them on the way.

In a statement issued from Bilawal House on Monday, Ms Bhutto said she was shocked by the brutal treatment meted out to the teachers by the Karachi administration. She supported the teachers’ demand for regularization of their jobs and asked the rulers to meet the same.
