KARACHI: A quartet of thoroughbred horses will compete for honours in the Governor Sindh Cup when it takes place in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

The Sindh Governor Cup which is also the day’s feature event, combined scale order I, II, III and IV, is the main attraction of a five-race card that has been drawn for the day. It will be contested over six furlongs.

Besides the cup, the remaining four races have also been named as Governor Plates in different scale orders.

The fifth and the supporting race, scale order III and IV to be run over four-and-a-half furlongs, has six starters.

As many as 11 horses will battle it out for honours in the opening race while seven horses apiece will face the starter in the second and third races.

Local unknown pedigree bay mare Humaira Choice will make her debut in the opening race.

The first race gets into action at 2.30pm.

Place: Royal Champion.
