KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has urged the government to enhance small and medium enterprise (SME) financing.

In a statement on Friday, FPCCI President Daroo Khan Achakzai said that SME financing would generate employment and help alleviate poverty.

He said that despite holding 95 per cent share of the country’s total enterprises, only 7.5pc credit financing was being provided to SMEs.

He said the financing to SME sector showed a declining trend during the last six months and stood at Rs465 billion in June compared to Rs514bn in Dec 2018.
