New SME policy by Sept-end

LAHORE, Aug 6: Federal Industries and Production Secretary Suleman Ghani has said that the government is finalizing the SMEs policy which would be in place by the end of September. He said that the involvement of all stakeholders, including all chambers of commerce, would be ensured in the upcoming SMEs policy.

Speaking at the LCCI on Saturday, he said the policy would contain a competitive support fund for small and medium enterprises, which would be a much-needed positive development in the real sense.

LCCI Acting President Sohail Lashari and Vice-President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad also spoke on the occasion. The meeting was also attended by LCCI former president Mian Anjum Nisar, executive committee members Nauman Kabir, Sheikh Muhammad Younas, Faisal Iqbal Sheikh, Yousaf Shah, former EC member Mubashar Sheikh, Tahir Javed Malik and LCCI secretary Mohammad Younas.

Mr Ghani apprised the LCCI office-bearers of the initiatives taken by the ministry to facilitate businessmen.—APP
