PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday ordered transfer of entire revenue staff of Peshawar district in order to bring transparency in the working of the revenue department.

A statement issued here said that the reshuffle had been carried out on the directive of KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, who had ordered transfer of all revenue patwaris of the provincial capital.

It said that following the chief minister’s orders, 129 officials of district revenue administration had been transferred.

It said that officials with unsatisfactory performance and previous service history were posted to important assignments where maximum public dealing took place.

The transfer schedule has been prepared scientifically using intelligence reports and on the basis of service history of officials.

The chief minister said that the government had also launched anti-corruption measures in all departments of the province. “All important postings and transfers will be done through placement committees,” he said.

Mr Khan said that a hotline would also be established where citizens could register any complaint regarding corruption and malpractices against government officials.
