PESHAWAR: PML-N has asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to step down and seek apology from the nation for the unprecedented price hike and government’s failure to fulfil its commitments with people regarding bringing change in their fate.

The demand was made by PML-N provincial president Amir Muqam here on Sunday.

“PTI pushed the country at least half a century backward in every sector and the wrong policies will result in a very alarming economic crisis in near future,” Mr Muqam told reporters after a meeting of party office-bearers.

He said that Imran Khan did not know how to run the country’s affairs. He said that PTI leadership only knew to use abusive language against the leaders of rival political parties.

The PML-N leader said that common people had nothing to do the slogan of accountability but they needed two-time meal with honour.

He said that government was unable to provide jobs to the unemployed youth.

He asked Imran Khan to disclose names of the people, who sought NRO from the government. He added that he should seek apology from the nation if he could not disclose the names.

“The entire nation is ready to stand up against the government. In the prevailing situation the best way for Imran Khan is to step down before the start of any decisive movement against him,” said Mr Muqam.

Earlier, the PML-N leaders including Rashid Mehmood, Intikhab Chamkani, Haji Mohammad Afzal and Israrullah Khan in the meeting discussed organisational matters and decided to motivate the workers for participating in Azadi March of JUI-F.

PML-N provincial spokesman Ikhtiar Wali Khan and MPA Sobia Khan at a press conference on Saturday had said that the party was determined to play its role in the march against the PTI government.

They said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif while talking to media on the occasion of his appearance in an accountability court clearly assured Maulana Fazlur Rehman of his support.

“We conveyed the message of our leader to the office-bearers of the party in different districts so that they could start mobilisation of the workers to ensure participation of maximum people in the march,” said Ikhtiar Wali.

The PML-N leaders said that government failed to come up to the expectations of people.

Imran Khan through his repeatedly speeches had claimed to bring change in fate of the poor people but he could not fulfil his commitments, they added.

They said that increasing unemployment, prices of daily use commodities and imposition of new taxes were gifts of the PTI government for the poverty-hit people.
