CHITRAL: The annual three-day sports gala concluded at the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Chitral, on Saturday, with students having participated in several games, particularly traditional sports.

Deputy commissioner Naveed Ahmed gave away prizes to the high performing players. He appreciated the quality of sportsmanship in the competition and said that an ideal educational institution paid equal concentration on physical enhancement of students.

Mr Ahmed said the Chitral chapter of the Aga Khan chain of schools had proved its mettle, constantly acquiring excellence both in the academic and extra-curricular activities.

Earlier, school principal Tufail Nawaz welcomed the guests and parents and briefed them about the progress of the school both in the fields of education and sports. He said the school had won the confidence of parents, which was gauged from the growing number of aspirants seeking admission in different grades. The participants evinced great interest in the final of the traditional tug-of-war game.
