AFTER a long time, people of Qasimabad area of Hyderabad had witnessed development in the shape of new roads with proper U-turns. This had significantly reduced traffic jams.

But soon after, they have now started digging a 20-foot deep drainage line from Sehrish Nagar to Ali Palace.

The recently built roads and green belts are now being converted into rubble. This ridiculous, untimely and unplanned drainage project has made the life of commuters miserable, especially since all large schools are situated on this road.

As usual no planning has been done to manage the traffic and no traffic police personnel have been deputed. This has resulted in traffic chaos, especially during school pick and drop times.

Why was not this project accomplished before the carpeting of the roads? Will not this double the cost and put more burden on the national exchequer?
