GWADAR: Turbat University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir has said that the university is committed to enhancing the working capacity of faculty members and administrative staff as well as teachers of affiliated colleges by conducting training workshops and refresher courses with the support of the Higher Education Commission.

Speaking at the concluding ceremony of a two-day teachers training workshop on Sunday, Dr Sabir said that Gwadar Campus of Turbat University was established in 2017, with qualified energetic young faculty members and devoted administrative staff providing quality education to the students of the area.

He said that institutions of higher learning flourished on the resourcefulness of their faculty and they were always known as a lifeline of any educational institution.

“Teaching is an exciting, dignified and a challenging career; it is full of personal rewards and provides a chance to encourage and support others to achieve their maximum ability and potential. Therefore, Turbat University has always put great emphasis on organising training programmes for its faculty members and administrative staff,” he added.

GDA College Principal Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal, while speaking on the occasion, said that trained and qualified faculty members were the backbone of educational institutions and such training workshop would provide an opportunity to the participants to enhance their teaching skills.

Gwadar Campus Director Ejaz Ahmed, in his welcome address, underlined the need for close collaboration among educational institutions in Gwadar for the promotion of quality education in the costal district of Makran.

QEC coordinator at Gwadar Campus Irshad Buledi, Commerce Department in-charge Mujahid Hussain and Management Sciences Department lecturer Fida Hussain spoke at the workshop as resource persons of the training programme.
