KARACHI, Aug 4: An Ikebana expert from Ikenobo Headquarters, Koyoto, Japan, Prof Nobu Kurashige, will perform at the National Museum of Pakistan, here on Aug 27.

According to an announcement here on Thursday the event is being organized by the Ikenobo Study Group Karachi.

According to experts, the history of Ikenobo is the history of Ikebana which began with Ikenobo and in altogether over 500 years other schools have branched out of Ikenobo.

The history of Ikenobo which is said to be the origin of Ikebana encompasses both the traditional and the modern - the two continually interacting to encourage new development in today’s Ikebana.

Prof Kurashige will arrive here on Aug 19 and will have a meeting with the members of the Ikenobo Study Group.

She will also hold a demonstration at the Lahore Gymkhana.

A workshop will also be conducted by the Japanese expert from Aug 22 to 25.—APP
