KOHAT: Deputy commissioner Matiullah Khan has constituted a committee to look into the long-suspended work on the Chor Lakki-Nizampur Road by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority.

He took the decision after the local elders and people expressed their grievances at an open kutchery held in remote Chor Lakki town on Friday.

The people also complained about low voltage of electricity, absence of facilities at the health centre and poor law and order situation.

Assistant commissioner Furqan Ashraf, additional assistant commissioners Murad Hoti and Shahabullah Shah along with heads of all the departments were present on the occasion.

The departmental heads replied to the questions of the people one by one and tried to satisfy them.

The deputy commissioner warned that nobody from the public or government side would be spared if he tried to create impediments in the development works.

He said the problem of low voltage would be solved once and for all after the completion of the new grid station being constructed with a cost of Rs50 million.

The deputy commissioner directed the police and the health officials to increase patrolling and provide facilities at the BHU.

He asked the people that they could contact him in case their problems were not resolved.
