CHARSADDA: The police busted an interprovincial gang of car thieves and killers, and recovered stolen vehicles here on Monday.

DPO Irfanullah Khan Marwat, DSP Taj Mohammad Khan and DSP (investigation) Saeed Khan told reporters here that the arrested gangsters, including four women, three men and their leader Sadiqullah, were involved in the murder of taxi drivers from Lower Dir, Swat and other areas.

They said the gangsters used to rent cars in Rawalpindi, come to Charsadda, kill drivers and take away cars.

The police officials said two major car theft and cabbie killing incidents had occurred in Charsadda since last month.

They said gunmen killed cabbie Rahatullah near Khweshgi Korona area last Friday before taking away the taxi.

The officials said taxi driver Umar Khan was also killed.

They said the provincial police chief took notice of the killings and directed the DIG of Mardan region police to recover trace killers and recover taxis.
