RAWALPINDI, Aug 2: Provincial Minister for Local Bodies Mohammad Basharat Raja has said unopposed election of nazims and naib nazims is a proof of the fact that people repose confidence in Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and the Pakistan Muslim League (PML).

According to a statement issued here on Tuesday, the provincial minister was talking to the PML office-bearers of Rawalpindi tehsil and district.

Mr Raja said despite making an alliance, the opposition parties had failed to appoint their candidates against all seats, indicating that they had lost the confidence and support of the masses.

He was confident that after the election of new local governments, the process of development would again start, resulting in redressal of the common man’s problems.
