HARIPUR: Two persons were killed in road accidents reported from different parts of the district here on Wednesday.

According to Sera-i-Saleh police, Qadeer Ali, a resident of Talokar village, was crossing road near Polytechnic College, when a speeding passenger van hit and injured him. Area people shifted him to the Haripur Trauma Centre where he succumbed to injuries.

The second road accident was reported from Hattar Industrial Estate. Hattar police said that Awais Zubair, 27, a resident of Guloo Bandi, was seriously injured when a dumper truck struck his motorcycle at Bandi bus stop.

The truck was wrongly overtaking a bus, the police and witnesses said.

He was shifted to rural health centre, Kotnajibullah, where he died of excessive bleeding and head injury.
