HARIPUR: The Haripur district administration on Tuesday imposed section 144 to put a stop to growing number of dengue patients.

The health department has been directed to carry out fumigation at the block factories, tyre shops, underground water tanks and all those areas where the presence of dengue mosquito was possible. The general public has also been asked to ensure cleanliness of such points that were potential habitats of dengue larvae.

Meanwhile, the health authorities have confirmed that so far 10 women and 16 men have been registered as dengue positive cases with the government health facilities in Haripur. However, no death has been reported from across the district, the officials claimed.

COUNTRY UNDER VIRTUAL MARTIAL LAW: Provincial JUI-F chief Senator Maulana Attaur Rehman has insisted that country is under virtual martial law in the garb of democracy.

This he said while speaking to mediapersons during his visit to Haripur on Tuesday.

Talking about the performance of PTI government, he claimed that it was brought into power on a hidden foreign agenda. He said the government came into power on the tall claims of turning around the economy, but had failed to fulfill its promises and instead the constant economic meltdown had made the life of common man miserable.

He insisted that the PTI government’s failed policies had forced the ‘pro-democracy’ forces to join hands to dislodge it. To a question, the JUI-F leader said that almost all opposition parties had consented to the planned anti-government movement of JUI-F.

He, however, claimed that the falling credibility of the government could force the rulers to tender resignations before the proposed Azadi march of JUI-F and its allies. He said after the upcoming intra-party elections the JUI-F would focus its energies on strengthening its district-based chapters and mobilise them for joining the anti-government protests.
