KARACHI, Aug 1: Two bullet-riddled bodies of unidentified young women were recovered from DHA on Monday morning. Police said the bodies were found near DHA Women College in Phase VIII, and it seems that they were shot elsewhere and their bodies were dumped in bushes. One of the victims was believed to be a 19-year-old while the other was in her late 20s, the police said, adding they had suffered three to five bullets.

The bodies were shifted to JPMC for postmortem. Hospital sources said one of the victims appears to have been assaulted.

Following legal formalities, the bodies were shifted to the Edhi’s morgue for identification. TPO Clifton Imran Shaukat told Dawn that the police could not make a head way till the identity of the two women is established.

“So far the father of a missing girl turned up for identification, but he failed to identify any of the two victims”, the TPO said.

SUICIDE: A private security guard, who had earlier been dismissed from service, committed suicide.

He committed suicide after his wedding plan broke down after refusal from the bride’s family.

Police said Mohammad Jehangir after being dismissed from army had joined a private security company. Jehangir told his close friend Essa that he wanted to marry. Subsequently Essa’s wife Mehrunissa arranged the marriage which was to take place on Aug 1. However, bride’s family refused the wedding after Jehangir’s dismissal from the job.

Police said Jehangir lost his temper and shot Mehrunissa. He later came to his house and committed suicide.

Mehrunissa was shifted to JPMC where she was stated to be in a stable condition.

ACCIDENTS: A traffic police official was crushed beneath a truck in Baldia on Monday.

Police said Akbar Ali, 35, tried to stop the speeding truck (TLA-978) for a signal violated but the vehicle ran over the traffic policeman. The victim died on the spot. Police arrested the errant driver Rahim Shah.
