AIOU starts admissions from Feb 1

ISLAMABAD, Jan 14: The admissions to Allama Iqbal Open University’s matric to PhD courses for the Spring-2002 semester will start on February 1 throughout the country.

The admissions will remain open upto March 5, 2002, says a press release.

The admission forms will be available from the main campus of the university in Islamabad and its 32 regional campuses situated in different cities of the country.

The admissions at the level of Ph.D will be offered in Islamic Studies, Urdu, educational planning and management, distance and non-formal education and teacher education.

The admissions in M.Phil will be offered in statistics, Urdu, special education, distance and non-formal education, teacher education, educational planning and management.

The admissions in MBA, MBA (information technology), master in computer science (MCS), master in library and information science, MSc (mathematics), MSc (sociology), MSc (mass communication), MSc (physics), MA (educational planning and management), MA (special education), MA (distance and non-formal education), MA (teacher education), M.Ed (special education), M.Ed (science education), M.Ed (distance and non-formal education), M.Ed (teacher education) are also being offered.

At diplomas level, PGD in computer science, special education, mass communication, information technology (IT), educational planning and management will also be started in the same semester.

The admission are also being offered in the following bachelors programme, BSC (honours), BCS, BIT (honours), BIT, BBA, B.Com, mass communication, library and information science, bachelor of arts.

In teachers’ training programmes, the admissions to the PTC, B.Ed, diploma in education (10+3) model, B.Ed (Arabic) will be offered.

The admissions to the HSSC (pre-engineering), HSSC (pre- medical), HSSC (family & community health), HSSC home sciences (home economics), FA and I.Com have also been included in this semester.

At the level of certificate, Al-Lisanul Arabi, Arabic ‘Bol Chaal’, certificate in librarianship, the admissions to technical and vocational courses, auto servicing, electrical wiring and the admissions to some agricultural courses and some short-term educational programmes are also being offered.
