DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jan 14: Four unidentified armed men snatched a Potohar Jeep from its owner on Daraban Road. Although all roads were blocked the police failed to recover the vehicle.

Haji Zahir Khan, a prominent landlord of the area, was coming to city from village Tikan in his Suzuki Potohar Jeep (2650/Peshawar) when four men armed with Kalashnikovs at Daraban More near Bahoo Petrol Pump blocked his way and asked him to step down.

Later, the four gunmen fled away in the same jeep.

Local police after information blocked all roads immediately but neither the jeep could be recovered nor the armed men could be apprehended.

TRANSFORMER DISMANTLED: The local power utility has dismantled its transformer from water supply scheme Paroa for its being a defaulter.

The Pesco authorities had asked repeatedly for clearing of the dues, but without success. Rs6 lakhs were said to be outstanding towards VDO, for which reason the action was taken.
