HYDERABAD, July 31: Candidates for seats of nazim and naib nazim of the Hatri-1 union council have alleged that Khawind Bux Jahejo, a candidate for the seat of nazim, is trying to substitute his name in the matriculation certificate of Ghulam Mohammad.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Saturday, Wadero Karim Bux Jahejo and Abdul Ghaffar Mashori, candidates for the seat of nazim of the union council, and Abdul Khaliq Mashori, a candidate for the naib nazim’s seat, said they had informed the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, Chief Election Commissioner, Sindh Election Commission, chief minister and other authorities in this regard.

They said according to an announcement by the Election Commission, only matric pass candidates could file papers to contest for the seats.

They pointed out that matriculation certificate was issued to Ghulam Mohammad in 1973 and the board could not substitute a name in a certificate.

They further said the passport, agriculture passbook, land record and telephone bills were also issued in the name of Khawind Bux Jahejo.

They appealed to the Election Commission and the BISE to take notice of the matter.
