ISLAMABAD: The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee on Saturday announced that the moon of Muharram-ul-Haram has been sighted and Yaum-ul-Ashura in the country would be observed on Sept 10.

The announcement was made by Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, chairman of the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, after a meeting held at the Meteorological Complex in Karachi. The first day of Muharram-ul-Haram falls on Sunday (today), marking the start of Islamic year 1441 of Hijri calendar year.
