GHALANAI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said that corrupt political mafias and plunderers of national treasury will be brought to justice and looted public money will be recovered from them at any cost.

He was addressing a public gathering after inaugurating 132 kilowatts grid station in Michanai, Mohmand tribal district on Wednesday.

“The selected chairman of PPP should put his house in order because decades-long rule of the party in Sindh province has turned the metropolitan city of Karachi into ruins with rampant corruption in public offices,” said the chief minister.

He said that Bilawal Zardari was imposed on the people of Sindh to be accepted as a leader whereas in fact he lacked proper political grooming.

He said that corrupt political parties not only tarnished the image of Pakistan but also played havoc with the institutions of the country that crippled economy.

The grid station has a transmission capacity of 52 megawatts that will ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to the newly established Mohmand marble industrial city to promote industrialisation. The scheme has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs467.27 million.

The chief minister said that PTI did not get proper chance for election campaign in the tribal districts.

However, it still emerged as the largest political party in the tribal districts whereas a reserved seat was given to Mohmand to ensure that the demands and concerns of the people were communicated to the government promptly.

Mr Khan also announced construction of a road from Pandialai to Ambar and construction of road from Halemzai through Khwazai and Baizai villages leading to the border of Afghanistan to promote regional trade.

He said that 14 new electricity feeders would be set up in the tribal district besides establishment of three high schools for girls in Khwazai, Baizai and Ambar, establishment of cadet college in Safi Mamad Gat and upgradation of tehsil hospital in Ghalanai.

Mr Khan said that solarisation of mosques, tubewells and schools in the district would begin soon whereas small dams would be constructed for irrigation purposes and ensuring supply of clean drinking water to the villages.

The chief minister said that India was being led by a fascist regime that desecrated every known human right in the occupied valley. He said that tribal people liberated Azad Kashmir and they would also liberate the India-held Kashmir. He added that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were ready to fight alongside their armed forces.

He also announced Rs1 million grant for Ghalanai Press Club.
