DADU: The Gorakh Hills Development Authority (GHDA) board of governors on Tuesday decided to fence its boundary along Balochistan border to check infiltration of criminal elements.

The board noted that it would also help protect the hill resort’s lands from encroachment.

The 10th meeting of the board presided over by its chairman, MNA Rafique Jamali, also discussed the authority’s financial issues and an audit as directed by the Sindh High Court.

Tourism Secretary Pervaiz Ahmed Sehar proposed setting up of committees to facilitate the process.

Dadu Deputy Commissioner Raja Shahzaman Khuhro, who is also the director general of the GHDA, informed the meeting that Rs2.1 billion out of the allocation of Rs2.2bn had been utilised in executing various development schemes of the hill resort since 2008.

He said another amount of Rs590 million would be required to complete the under-construction 35km road for which a requisition would be put up with the provincial government.
