TAXILA: Police have booked a man for uploading material against state institutions on his social media account and launched a hunt to arrest him.

The case was registered against Sheraz Khan Mohmand, a resident of Peshawar at present living in Attock, under sections 123A of the Pakistan Penal Code and the Maintenance of Public Order. Sheraz Khan was charged with uploading defamatory posts about state institutions on his social media account.

The FIR also stated that the accused was instigating the public against state institutions in his neighbourhood.

Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency raided a village near Pindigheb on Saturday and arrested a man on charges of harassing a woman on social media and blackmailing her.

A case was registered against the accused under the Cyber Crimes Act on a complaint filed by the woman.
