MINGORA: Officials of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Saturday vowed to create awareness in the communities, particularly youth and students, about adulteration-free foods to avoid health hazards.

They were speaking at awareness sessions held at various public and private schools.

On the occasion, the authority’s officials, including its deputy director Mohammad Asad Qasim Khattak, said that it was high time to educate people, particularly youth and students, regarding the benefits of healthy food for a progressive society.

“I am happy to announce that the food authority has once again launched the awareness programme in the educational institutions of Swat under which the teams will visit different public and private schools on a daily basis and hold awareness sessions with the students and teachers to educate them on adulteration-free halal food, including bread, biscuits, carbonated drinks, chips and other products,” said Mr Khattak.

The students were also informed that how to contact the authority in case of any complaints regarding sale of unhygienic food items inside and outside of educational institutions.
