KARACHI: Two matches were played on the first day of Inverex Trophy Invitational Basketball Tournament being organized by Nasir Academy in collaboration with KBBA at Abdul Nasir Basketball courts at Arambagh on Friday.

In the first match, Karachi Basketball Club beat Usman Club 48-40 in a high scoring contest. Scorers for the winners were Asad Imam 16 points, Raj Kumar 15 points and Zainul Abedeen 14 points.

In the second match, Lecole Ballers easily overcame Arambagh Basketball 52- 42. Umair Pasha 16 points, Khizer Munir 16 and Shahzain 10 points were the main scorers for the winners.

Earlier, Inverex Power Solutions CEO M Zakir Ali, who was the chief guest on the occasion, declared open the event. Speaking on the occasion, he said that sports are pivotal for promotion of youth and society and we will continue to patronize sports for the cause of the country.

KBBA president Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Abdul Nasir, and social activist Saleem Khamisani were also present on the occasion.
