QUETTA: A woman and her son were killed when gunmen opened fire on a vehicle in the Chaman area on Tuesday.

Levies officials said that a man, Jan Popalzai, who had been released from the Quetta District Jail the other day, was travelling in the vehicle along with his mother.

When the vehicle reached the Kojak Pass linking Pakistan with Afghanistan, it came under attack.

As result of firing, Popalzai and his mother were killed on the spot.

Levies Force shifted the bodies to the Chaman District Hospital for post-mortem. “The cause of the killing may be an old enmity,” a Levies official said.

No arrest was made till our going to press late night.
